Where is all the smoke coming from?

Many have been wondering about the hazy conditions and the occasional smell of smoke the last 24 hours. We have talked about it on our broadcasts but it should be repeated here as well.

We have had a northwesterly flow of wind and that wind has brought in smoke from fires burning in southern and central British Columbia.

As the wind shifts away from the north we should notice less smoke and haze along with very warm temperatures.

We hope that some thunderstorms during the late afternoon and early evenings don’t start fires in our area. As it get hot, grass and available fuel dries out quickly!

If camping be very careful with fire. Even welding equipment can start a wildfire under the right conditions.

Play it safe and enjoy the warm week ahead!
