Warming Friday with still high water!

Clouds and showers for a good part of the state today. Another upper level low pressure system is bringing showers and isolated thunderstorms into Montana. Temperatures are also below normal. We do see some warming by tomorrow.

Here is a great link if you are following water stages anywhere in the U.S. For Montana just click on the state.

Overnight partly cloudy after midnight with some showers before midnight. Low near 43.

Friday partly sunny with a 30% chance of afternoon showers and a high in the upper 60’s.

Saturday partly sunny with with a 50% chance of rain showers and a high in the mid 60’s.

Sunday partly sunny with a high in the upper 60’s and a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Monday through Wednesday much the same type of weather with sunshine and afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the 70-75 degree range.

I hope you have a great evening and remember to avoid the high and fast moving water in many parts of the state.

…THE FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 800 PM MDT THURSDAY FOR URBAN AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS IN MEAGHER…JUDITH BASIN…FERGUS… CHOUTEAU…CASCADE AND BLAINE COUNTIES…

MANY RIVERS AND CREEKS WILL CONTINUE TO RUN HIGH OR OUT OF THEIR
BANKS THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK. PERIODS OF RAIN WILL BRING
BETWEEN A QUARTER AND A HALF INCH INCH OF RAIN TO THE AREA TODAY.
RAIN WILL TAPER OFF THIS EVENING. HOWEVER…BLAINE COUNTY IS
EXPECTED TO RECEIVE LESS THAN A  QUARTER OF AN INCH TODAY. RECENT
RAINFALL AS WELL AS RAINFALL TODAY WILL RESULT IN RIVERS AND CREEKS RUNNING HIGH OR OUT OF THEIR BANKS. ADDITIONAL FLOODING IS
POSSIBLE.

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED. STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED. HOWEVER…ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS IMMEDIATELY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE…TURN AROUND…DONT DROWN.
