Remaining cool and a chance of showers & thunderstorms.

I took the drive from Great Falls to Helena and back early this morning. A lot of sunshine and high water along the Missouri. On the return trip to Great Falls it was turning a bit cooler, thanks to the winds that were picking up. Also clouds were on the increase in Helena by 10 am.

Another nice spring morning with plenty of sunshine. We are seeing clouds begin to move into Central Montana. Showers and thunderstorms may begin developing over the mountains this afternoon, and then begin spreading into Central Montana overnight and into the Western Dakotas by morning. Cool and unsettled weather is expected for the remainder of the week and into the weekend.

Overnight mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain showers before midnight and a low in the lower 40’s.

Thursday partly sunny with some developing afternoon and evening thunderstorms and showers. The high should only peak in the low 60’s.

Friday not much change with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. High in the upper 60’s and breezy at times.

To start the weekend on Saturday partly sunny with a chance of thunderstorms and a high in the low 70’s.

Sunday partly sunny with showers and thunderstorms. Our high near 70 degrees.

Monday and Tuesday partly sunny with some showers and thunderstorms. High near 70 degrees both days.

Flood warnings continue in place as we struggle with high water from mountain run-off. Any showers could only add to the problem.
